Think of us as part solar provider, part social movement.

We’re a consumer-owned cooperative developing, owning, and operating small-scale community solar projects on behalf of our members.

Our mission is to provide equitable access to clean renewable energy. We lower energy expenses and improve resiliency through solar power, energy storage, efficiency, and education. We empower communities, strengthen local economies, and promote ecological practices through community-based energy systems.

We’re in the business of ensuring that the transition to a clean, renewable-powered grid benefits Mainers.

We develop community-scale solar projects. Each project has a footprint of 1 acre and powers 50 average Maine households.

Under cooperative ownership, we deliver energy savings to our members, improve reliability of the energy system, and provide community benefits for decades to come.

We purposefully choose to develop small projects that blend into the landscape and serve additional purposes beyond energy production, whether it’s growing, grazing, or providing pollinator habitat.
